Fiddle and Violin Lessons

I teach fiddle and violin lessons in Northampton, MA to all ages, normally beginning at age 6 or older. My lessons for children are often a mix of Suzuki violin, fiddle and improv. 

Adults can start at any age! I love teaching beginners and all levels and am happy to help you learn whatever you long to play: from country solos to Mozart minuets, fiddle tunes, your own compositions or anything else.

My fiddle and/or violin lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes at the rate of $60/hour, generally paid through cash, Zelle, or Venmo. I love to barter! I have time available during the workday, Wednesday evenings, and Sundays. I also teach online lessons over Zoom. My goal is always for my students to love music and have fun playing. Many of my students and former students play purely for fun and enjoyment on fiddle and other instruments. In addition, my classical violin students have won regional concerto competitions, been concert masters in the Rochester and Baltimore Youth Orchestras, and majored in music at schools including Berklee, Oberlin, Michigan, and McGill. Several of my former fiddle students are now professional musicians and music teachers.
